The Real Cost of Aggressive or Risky Driving
Collisions are costly for the individuals, companies and for the insurance services providing the
vehicle coverage. The cost can be measured in dollars and cents, but it pales in comparison to the cost in lives
and suffering.
Teenage or Dependent Drivers
At over 22 million, drivers between the ages of 16 and 20 years of age account for almost 6,000 deaths
a year on the United States roadways. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports that 5,610 teens in the
USA died in traffic accidents in 2004, which makes such accidents the leading cause of death, by far,
for that age group.
Our family services hope to put the parents in the car of the teenager at all times with the help of the
community. Through the public reporting of bad driving behavior, parents can be notified almost
immediately of the incident taking corrective action, teaching better driving or talking through the
incident. The objective being to decrease driver anonymity and increase good driver behavior.
Anonymity Makes Drivers More Aggressive
We have carefully crafted a driver accountability program we believe will ultimately
improve driver safety and stabilize insurance costs.
Commercial vehicle monitoring programs have been proven successfull. These programs use stickers on the back of
trucks and ask "How's my driving?" providing a toll-free number to call. A 1998 study
by the Hanover Insurance Company of found a 22% drop in accidents and a 53% reduction
in financial losses for vehicles in such programs. This program works much the same way by calling
1-800-634-SAFE(7233) any time and noting the car tag.

Our program fills the gap between doing nothing and calling the police. You can
use TeleTag to anonymously report any incident and you can enroll in our program
to be informed each time your car is reported. Take corrective actions before the
reported driving behavior costs you money in the form of an accident.
